Kate Macleod
I’ve been an artist for over 30 years, largely self taught with little or no influence from other artists during my early years. In my teens I studied Art and Design, becoming interested in pen and ink, brought about by my fascination for all things oriental, particularly Japanese woodblocks.
Having passed the BTEC Nat Dip, I was still unhappy with what I hadn’t learnt from college and decided to teach those willing to learn that which I had taught myself through perseverance and error. This is still the case today alongside portraits, book illustrations, Art Group demonstrations, writing book material and magazine articles, and exhibitions for charities such as the British Lung Foundation and Macmillan Nurses.
I also make beaded jewellery for special occasions including weddings, birthdays and exhibitions and have had ink work reproduced as stamps by Stamp-press.
I teach and demonstrate all around the South East.
